Who Is It For?
As eyelids are constantly subject to permanent movements, it is not surprising that it is one of the first areas where loosen skin appears. Fat deposits and skin folds are formed here, too. In consequence, the face looks tired and older than it actually is; in extreme cases the drooping upper eyelids may even obstruct normal vision, which is not only a cosmetic problem anymore. For people who feel that their eyes seem hooded, old or tired, upper eyelid surgery is a right procedure which can be performed alongside other facial cosmetic surgery procedures.
How Is It Done?
The eye lid surgery can involve either only upper or lower eyelids, or both at the same time. In the case of upper eyelids, the incision is made in the natural skin fold, in the case of lower eyelids it is made under the eyelash line. During the operation, excess skin and fat deposits are removed.
Surgery
The eyelid surgery is performed under local anaesthesia or by client’s request under intravenous sedation, which is more comfortable because the patient sleeps during the operation. It takes approximately one hour. During surgery non-dissolvable stitches are used. The stitch removal is necessary after 7 - 10 days.
