Professor Martin Fried is a leading Czech surgeon and head of the OB Klinika. He graduated from the Faculty of General Medicine, Charles University in Prague. He worked at the 1st Surgical Clinic of the 1st Faculty of Medicine, Charles University and the General Hospital in Prague, from 1994 to 2001 he was its head. In the United Kingdom, he was Head of Surgery at St. Petersburg in 2001 and 2002. John's Hospital. He has been involved in bariatric surgery in the treatment of obesity since the early 1990s. In 1993, he was the first in the world to perform laparoscopic surgery - an inadjustable gastric bandage in obese patients. Since 2009, he has been the head of the OB Klinika in Prague, a top workplace for the treatment of obesity and related diseases. Professor Fried also trained surgeons from the United States, Great Britain, Spain, Italy, Poland, Slovakia and other countries. He is the chairman of the Czech Obesity Society and a member of other local and international professional societies.
